Happy Birthday, Dear Jared

For Jared's Birthday today he played with the kids a lot. We took said kids to see "The Avengers" (I know, I know... I said it was a little too violent for them in my last post... but knowing where those few parts were we knew when to tell them to cover their eyes). The boys only needed to cover their eyes twice, but Jessie spent most of the second half of the movie cuddled with Noah, who was asleep, under a blanket. Then Jared went to the EQ Pinewood Derby race with his sling-shot car he named "The Procrastinator." His was definitely the fastest and was voted "Most Dangerous." We then had chicken and stuffing for dinner, which I learned is NOT his favorite meal after all. His favorite is actually what we uniquely call, "Pork Skillet." It's pork.. cooked in a skillet... with some other stuff. Of course we ended the night with cake and presents and got the kids to bed way too late again. While rocking Noah he started to say, "Boo Boo!" (Boots) in this sort of panicked tone, and he quickly slid down off of my lap and booked his tiny hiny into the living room to get his cowboy boots and then insisted on wearing them to bed. (Sigh) I pick my battles.
