Dead Pigeon

Logan found a dead pigeon in the pool today. Eeww. I'm posting a picture Jessie drew of Cody instead of the dead pigeon. The reason I'm even posting about this at all is because the kids started to discuss how a pigeon ends up in a swimming pool in the first place.

Logan: Maybe it was flying through the air and crashed into another bird and fell into the pool and didn't know how to swim. (This involved lots of hand movements and sound effects).

Jessie: Maybe it crashed into the house and got brain damage.

Porter: Maybe it was injured and fell in.

Logan: Maybe it was fighting with another bird by the hot pool and the other bird pushed it in.

Jessie: Maybe it fell out of the tree while it was sleeping.

So I'm sure when my kids are older and they read this they are going to ask me why in the world I documented the time we found a dead pigeon in the swimming pool. I'm questioning myself as I type.

Anyway... something else from today is this drawing by Jessie. I am very impressed by her attention to detail! I think we have a budding artist on our hands.

***Update*** It turns out the pigeon wasn't quite dead after all.
