The Weekend

On Friday, I really needed to go to the grocery store and sometimes if I don't go right after taking Porter to school I just don't get around to it until later in the day it sort of messes up our routine. Problem is, sometimes I really have to have my game on just to have Porter ready for the day when it's time for school, let alone the other three. We didn't have time for breakfast, but hey, at least Fry's has some really yummy Christmas donuts this time of year. Or so I'm told. I don't care for donuts at all. The kids picked out their own and I'll admit the creamy filling looked tasty. We had our friends the Swensons and the Stephens over for dinner this night and it was so fun to hang out with them and let the kids run amok. Trevor hooked us up with two new toilets and as funny as it sounds: they are some nice toilets! The Swensons have been a huge help to us during or move and I am so grateful to have good friends like them. All of the kids had such a great time. Porter introduced his friends to Beyblades (for which I apologized to their mother's profusely) and Jessie LOVED having other girls over. Molly Garner came over the day before and they had so much fun giggling and playing dress-up together.

We had a very busy Saturday. We all slept in late because we had friends over so late the night before. Then we went to Jared's work for "Santa comes to Sector." Jared got some pictures on his phone I need to add. That was great fun. The kids not only met Santa (whom they all determined was NOT the Real Santa), the boys climbed the rock wall together, they played on bounce houses, pet goats, and ate lots of yummy food. We then had to run a few errands, which meant we got home very late. I did not plan on this. Jared and I had leftover prime rib for dinner and the kids made these cute reindeer corn dogs. And Jessie wasn't in her outgrown minnie mouse costume all day, but she couldn't wait to change into when we got home.

Just another reason I love Sundays. And isn't Jared handsome? He doesn't like this picture. He thinks he looks all double chin-ish and holding his kids bum-ish. I just see a cute dad snuggled with a cute kid for a nap.

I heard Noah scooting a chair into the kitchen. I assumed it was to sneak cookies. I was right. What I didn't know is that he also likes to rearrange the Mr. and Mrs. Claus salt and pepper shakers while he's over there. Kinda cute.

Yesterday morning was COLD! It was the first time we've slept with all the windows closed since we moved here and we still woke up cold. I took this picture of Logan huddled by the fireplace (which puts out a nice amount of heat!) as proof to Jared that we really "needed" it, even though we indeed live in Yuma.
